Hola!
Today was another good day in clinical! Although we still had a slow influx of patients, I was able to observe in the laboratory what they do, and how they perform procedures for lab tests. I found out they practically do everything manually (like counting blood cells manually) and only two people perform these procedures. Afterwards, we all observed a cesarean section in a small operation room! It was the first surgical procedure I saw ever in my career as a student and a nurse. I was very proud of myself for trying to endure the different smells of the operating room. We had an amazing surgeon and anesthesiologist that allowed us to observe, and we did practice a little Spanish with them. The anesthesiologist also set us to the side to discuss what methods he uses and why. While I didn't get to practice our Spanish too much, it was still very educational!
After school, we all went to the nearest mall and hung out there pampering ourselves. It was rather relaxing! So, that was pretty much it for today! Here are a couple more pictures, and I will return tomorrow for more updates! Hasta luego!
